PROBLEM
A grocery store had two sets of automatic sliding doors with storefront glass in the middle resulting in wasted space. When shopping carts were collected, they had to be returned through the exit side, which was dangerous in addition to inconvenient for customers.
SOLUTION
The DH Pace team installed a rolling door, for the return of carts, between the entrance and exit sliding doors. To form two lanes for the shopping carts to return through, the team also installed heavy duty rails to protect shoppers from being hit by the carts. Air curtains were also installed over each opening, to enhance energy efficiency.
