PROBLEM
Ornate entry doors to a library were dragging and not shutting correctly, therefore needed to be replaced. Since the ornamental design extended from the doors up the building façade, a replacement required rebuilding the design from scratch. Plus, they were hung on closers at the top and bottom which put extra stress on the attachment points for such a heavy door.
SOLUTION
Using birch doors, our team customcut each opening and installed new window kits to replicate the design. They also salvaged the decorative squares from the original doors and installed them on the replacement. After the doors were prepared, we hung them on full mortise continuous hinges to better carry the weight over the long term.
